Online Passport Application Fees Structure: Passport is an official document issued by a government, certifying the holder’s identity and citizenship and entitling them to travel under its protection to and from foreign countries. You can apply for online passport application from their official website  passportindia.gov.in. The Fees of a passport depends on the type of passport service used for and whether it is on a regular basis or Tatkaal.

Normal or Regular Passport Fees.

In Tatkaal scheme, your passport gets delivered within three days, but the cost of the fee will be higher.

Police Clearance Certificate Fee – Rs.500

For Diplomatic Passport, no fees applicable.

How to Check Passport Application Fees?

On the official website of the Passport Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, there is a passport fee calculator tool which calculates the various costs for passport applications.

Q.1: What is the fee for applying for a passport?

Ans: To know the fee details for ordinary passports, please click the “Fee Calculator link on the Home page. No fee is required for Diplomatic/Official passports.

Q.2: How can I make the payment? What are the accepted methods of payment?

Ans: Online Payment has been made mandatory for booking appointments at all PSKs.

Online Payment can be done using any one of the following modes:

  • Credit/ Debit Card (MasterCard and Visa)
  • Internet Banking (State Bank of India(SBI), Associate Banks and Other Banks)
  • SBI Bank Challan
  • SBI Wallet Payment

Q.3: How much do I have to pay for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)?

Ans: The fee to be paid for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is Rs.500/-.

Q.4: How can I cancel my appointment and get a refund on cancellation?

Ans: Once you had paid fee and booked the appointment, then a refund of paid amount is not permitted.

Q.5Can the fee be refunded if we have not booked an appointment?

Ans: Once payment is made the same cannot be refunded.

Q.6: Can I transfer my paid fee from one Application Reference Number (ARN) to another ARN?

Ans: The fee once paid cannot be transferred from one ARN to another ARN.

Q.7: What if I do not have an SBI Bank account?

Ans: If you are not an SBI Bank account holder, you can continue to make payment online using either the Credit/Debit Card of other banks or SBI Challan.

Q.8: What if multiple payments are made for making passport fee payments?

Ans: The concerned RPO will make a refund of excess amount.

Q.9: What is the validity of fee?

Ans: Payment will be valid for one year from the date payment has been made. If you have booked an appointment, then the validity of fee will be one year from first appointment date.

Q.10: Should I carry the online Application (ARN) receipt while visiting PSK at the time of appointment?

Ans: Yes. You will be required to carry online application receipt along with all necessary documents.
